Spice Fun Dough
2 c Flour
2 ts Baking powder
1/3 c Sugar
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1/3 c Milk
4 tb Salad oil
Mix the dry ingredients together. Add milk and oil. Knead until dough sticks together and forms a ball. Divide dough into portions on wax paper sheets. Roll and shape the mixture into doughnut shapes or other forms.
This dough can be fried in oil at 375F. If dough is to be used for play, substitute water for the milk. This dough has a nice texture, an unusual appearance, and a spicy aroma.
Pretzel Dough (Edible)
1 package
yeast
1 1/2 cups of warm water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
In a bowl - Gradually mix in 4 cups flour. Knead vigorously and use like playdough. Make shapes and objects. Place on aluminum foil covered cookie sheet . Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 425° for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Shiny Edible Paint
1 qt size clear corn syrup
1 dr food coloring
Mix together completely using toothpicks. Use to paint large marshmallows. Make edible puppets. Put marshmallows on end of childs finger or end of spoons before eating. Do some finger plays or songs. You also can use this to paint faces on sandwiches, pancakes, graham crackers or cookies. Makes wonderful bright shiny paint for pictures on paper but stays sticky indefinitely.
