Tell us a little about 4KidzPartyz.
4kidzpartyz is a personalized party favor and gift business. We create favors and gifts for birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, Mother’s Day, Easter, new baby gifts, teacher’s gifts, housewarmings and every other occasion. We specialize in special requests.
What made you start your own business?
The idea for 4KidzPartyz came about while I was waiting for the birth of my adopted son. I have always done personalized party favors for my friends' children and at craft fairs when someone approached me and said , "We love the work that you do, it is very creative and fun and more people would love the opportunity to order your favors." I've always believed that presenting a gift should be a special occasion and opening that gift should be a delight.
How did you come up with your business name?
I originally started out doing party favors for children and was trying to think of a name that would relate to that and so 4kidzpartyz was born. Since then we have expanded into all different areas including gifts for grown-ups.
What do you enjoy most about having your own business?
Since I recently became a new mom, I love the fact that I can stay at home and take care of my son while being able to make money at the same time. I also really enjoy creating and painting the favors and gifts. I find it very relaxing and I enjoy hearing people’s reactions when they receive their gifts.
How do you balance family and your business?
I usually do most of my work at night and on the weekends when my husband is home. With a new baby it’s difficult to get everything done during the day, but I try and work when the baby is sleeping.
If you could offer one piece of advice to those new in the business what would it be?
Not to give up. It’s hard at the beginning but if you have a dream, go for it. I’m really glad that I did.
If you knew then what you know today would you do anything different?
The only thing I wish I did differently was to start my web site sooner.
