Representative of the Month - March
Tell us a little about Watkins.
I am in my 8th year with Watkins Products and love the business and the
products we have. Watkins was started in 1868 by J.R, Watkins and is still
growing today. We have almost 400 products to make families and homes more
healthy. We have gourmet foods and spices, medicinal and vitamin supplements, household cleaning products to which we just introduced our all natural cleaning products, and we have our personal care product line. We have just introduced organic spices as well. Check us out and if you have any questions about the business or the products I am happy to answer them. Watkins has no monthly quotas, no territories, earn residual income, no inventory, free training, two websites with free business tools and loads of information, conference calls, win trips and prizes and so much more.
What made you start your own business?
I already had a home business and still do for the past 31 years but my
friend mentioned Watkins to me one day and I remembered them from when I was young and my mother and grandmother used to buy Watkins products all the time. I remember the smells of the products and was amazed that the company was still around. I love Watkins products. I needed something else to
supplement income and help pay some bills so I signed up with Watkins and
have never looked back. I am only sorry I didn't get started long before I
did.
What do you enjoy most about having your own business?
I love being able to work my own hours, work from home and have no pressure from anyone. Watkins is a no pressure business. I love meeting new people and helping them to make their homes and families healthier. I love Watkins products and am happy to be a part of the Watkins family.
How do you balance family and your business?
I have always been able to raise my three boys and be a wife and mother with no problem. I set schedules for myself and it always worked out fine. Now my boys are married and on their own with their own families and its only hubby and I at home. I now have lots of time to spend with our 7 grandchildren.
If you could offer one piece of advice to those new in the business what would it be?
I think the main thing when anyone begins a new business is to be consistent and never give up. Don't expect to be rich over night, you get out of your business what you put into it. Be consistent, patient and honest and it will all work out fine.
If you knew then what you know today would you do anything different?
If I knew then that I would be enjoying my business so much today and would make so many new wonderful friends and have my own self esteem boosted like it has been, I would have joined the Watkins family years before I did.
I want to wish everyone luck with their business whether they have been in business for years or are just starting out. You can and will be successful if you find something you are interested in doing and don't give up.
