Tell us a little about your Scent-Sations.
I am an independent distributor for Scent-Sations, home of Mia Bella’s Cleaner Burning Gourmet Scented Candles and other fine gourmet products. Our candles are made from natural vegetable waxes allowing them to burn practically soot free. There are many ways to retail the candles and I also offer fundraisers. Training and supporting new distributors is a part of my business too.
Why did you decide to become a Home Business Rep?
I became a distributor about two years ago when I was searching for a way to earn some additional income. I already work outside the home as an administrative assistant and I wanted something that wouldn’t take me away from my daughters in the afternoons, evenings or weekends. Working from home appealed to me and when I came across this opportunity it was the perfect fit. And I do love candles!
What do you enjoy most about having your own business?
Flexibility – I set my own hours. No boss – I run my business the way I want to. Meeting new people and helping my customers.
How do you
balance family and your business?
I’m a single mom so I do put more time into my business when my daughters are visiting with their father. I often work while they are doing their homework in the afternoons.
If you could offer one piece of advice to those
new in the business what would it be?
Take action and commit to your business for at least 2-3 years. It does take time to plant your seeds and to grow.
If you knew then what you know today would you do anything different?
